A suspected kidnapper was slain by police in Edo on Sunday along the Benin-Auchi expressway in the state’s Etsako-West local government area.
This was revealed in a statement issued in Benin City by Jennifer Iwegbu, the state police command’s spokesperson.
He claimed that while on routine patrol, the command’s operatives killed the suspect, while the others managed to flee with gunshot wounds.
Iwegbe claimed that the action came after the Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, and the State’s Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro, recently met strategically with stakeholders of Edo State Security.
