IPOB Alleges Police’s Plan To Link It With Electioneering Violence
AWKA – The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has accused the police of planning to blame security failures during electioneering campaigns on it, emphasizing that it is not interested in Nigeria’s elections.
It said for this reason, the statement credited to the Inspector General of Police linking IPOB to such a plan is “laughable and disgraceful”.
In a statement signed by its media and publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful it said that “The corrupt Government and their compromised Security should know that IPOB and ESN volunteers don’t engage with Nigeria’s shambolic political campaigns and selection process they call an election.”
“IG of Police should leave IPOB volunteers and ESN Operatives alone to focus on things that matter instead of trying to get them involved in Nigeria Government and its fraudulent political processes. If Nigeria Police have concluded their plans to commit crimes during political campaigns and tag it on IPOB and ESN they will fail as usual”, it added.
IPOB alleged that “any time Nigeria Security Agencies raise a false alarm, know that they have planned attacks to blackmail IPOB and ESN Operatives but we cannot allow them to continue their business of blackmail. These compromised Security Agencies have killed innocent people in an effort to blackmail IPOB but Chukwu Okike Abiama has always vindicated us”.
The group said it has always maintained that it is not interested in anything that has to do with Nigeria let alone take any side in their political process and that the only political process that IPOB will participate in is an UN-supervised Biafra Referendum that will usher in Biafra Sovereignty and Independence.
It advised the Inspector-General of Police and his officers to stop their alleged planned attacks because they will always be exposed and disgraced.
“IPOB hands are clean. In the process of blackmailing IPOB they will plunge Nigeria into a political crisis that will consume Nigeria and their corrupt politicians”, it warned.
It said if the Federal Government wanted IPOB to be part of its politics, it should fix a date for Biafra Referendum and witness the civilized political prowess of IPOB.
It reiterated that IPOB has remained peaceful and nonviolent in its quest of seeking Biafra’s freedom from Nigeria State and no amount of blackmail can change its resolve to restore Biafra from the shackles of the Nigerian Government.
It alleged that it knew that the Presidency has perfected plans to kill people for politics and link it to IPOB to blackmail it, and has mobilized some compromised media houses to help it spread lies against IPOB and ESN.
“We are already used to their blackmail and are waiting to expose their lies”, it concluded.
