Jibrin Didn’t Resign On His Own, He Was Forced Out Of Office To Make Sure That Ayu Remains- Senator Olaka Nwogu

PDP House of Representatives Member, Senator Olaka Nwogu has revealed what he claims was the ploy of the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) following the resignation of the Board of Trustees Chairman, Walid Jibrin at the 97th BoT meeting of the party on Thursday in Abuja. The Senator made this disclosure while featuring in an interview on Arise Television on Friday.
He alleged that Jibrin was forced out of office by pressure mounted on him from every quarter of the party, just to create the impression that an office has come to the south and please Governor Nyesom Wike. According to him, this way, the chairman of the Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu will remain.
He said: “I find it sad that it got to a point that these people had to hound the BoT Chairman out of office just to create a picture as though an office has finally come to the South. He had no choice. The pressure that was put on him came from every quarter just to make sure Ayu is sustained in the office”.
Meanwhile, Governor Nyesom Wike who reacted to the development hours ago, said that the BoT position is inconsequential. He asked how two Northerners will be taking decisions while a Southerner will be an adviser.
