FG Responds to Peter Obi: Accepting Grains from Ukraine Doesn’t Indicate Nigeria’s Failure

The Federal government has responded to remarks made by Peter Obi regarding Ukraine’s donation of 25,000 tons of wheat to Nigeria. While Obi emphasized the generosity of Ukraine despite its ongoing conflict with Russia, he also criticized Nigeria’s leadership for its inability to provide for its citizens despite being at peace.

In defense, the Minister of Information and National Orientation argued that receiving food aid from Ukraine doesn’t imply Nigeria’s failure as a state. He pointed out that even countries like Egypt rely heavily on grains from Ukraine without being labeled as failed states.

Addressing the media in Abuja, the Minister stressed that challenges faced by Nigeria do not equate to failure, emphasizing that countries often depend on each other for support.
