Argentine international and forward enigma, Lionel Messi was superb tonight for Christophe Galtier led Paris Saint Germain team in their first game of the Group H in the UEFA Champions League group stage at home against Juventus at the Parc Des Princes.
The 35 year old football icon was handed a role to play in his team’s starting XI line-up having been a key figure in the squad since his arrival at the team.
He was able to deliver at the peak as he gave an all-round performance to create a couple of chances at the heart of the forward line complemented with some play making skills which were all instrumental in the crucial two goals to one victory that placed them at the second spot on the table.
Paris Saint Germain in the first half took a double lead going into the half time break courtesy of a superb brace from France international, Kylian Mbappe which gave the host the lead.
The visitor in the second half were able to step up their game as they displayed some more physical, tactical and technical skills and as such got the deficit reduced in the 53rd minute with a goal from Weston McKennie to make it two goals to one.
After every other attempts from both sides to add more to the tally of the night, all were not successful as it ended two goals to one at full time.
Lionel Messi with his fantastic displays in the show of the night will be hoping to keep his incredible delivery going in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the competition.
