Journalist Sergio Fernandez claims that Barcelona has started the procedure again to officially register summer acquisition Pablo Torre as a first-team player with La Liga.
The talented midfielder, 19, moved from Racing Santander to Camp Nou last summer. The teenager was not listed as a member of La Liga’s first team setup, despite the fact that he trained with the senior team.
Nevertheless, he has reportedly so far refused to play for the reserves. Torre is still listed as a member of the Barça Athletic team.
With his substitution against Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Champions League last week, Torre made his official senior debut for Barcelona. He has been selected for Saturday’s La Liga match against Cadiz, where he might see more action.
Currently, it’s being said that Barcelona is taking steps to add Torre to the first team. According to the report, the Catalans have resubmitted their earlier request for a visa for the 19-year-old prospect after withdrawing it in order to sign Jules Kounde.
However, Barcelona has enough room on the salary sheet after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sergio Dest, and more recently Miralem Pjanic left. Torre can now join the first-team roster.
In order to recommence the procedure for his registration with La Liga, they have reapplied for the young Spanish prospect’s visa.
Torre joined Barcelona from Racing Santander following a successful year in which he assisted his former team in being promoted from the RFEF Primera Division to La Liga 2.
The young player will now be hoping that Xavi Hernandez provides him with plenty of opportunities to establish himself at his new club.
