The recent visit by Bola Tinubu to former President Goodluck Jonathan, according to the All Progressives Congress (APC), was a planned action to preserve national harmony and togetherness. The APC’s nominee for president in 2023 is Tinubu.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by Mr. Felix Morka, APC National Publicity Secretary, the rationale was given.
Morka applauded the action and suggested that it be imitated. He also said that the Peoples Democratic Party PDP’s outburst against the visit exposed the party’s extreme hypocrisy and stupidity.
“Our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recently paid a formal visit to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and it generated controversy. The opposition PDP has panicked and sounded a false alarm, alleging that our candidate or party will not profit from the move.
He continued by saying that the PDP has demonstrated that it is a party with chronic myopia, lacking in vision, and unable to understand the imperative of prioritizing the interest of the country before political differences.
He contends that the PDP is unable to recognize existential and strategic opportunities to heal divisions, mend fences, and build racial harmony and unity bridges because of its fixation on childish partisanship.
The PDP prefers to fuel the raging fires of animosity and division, the APC spokesperson emphasized, calling this sad.
Nigerians will never forget the PDP’s 16 years of misrule, corruption, and wastemania.
Asiwaju Tinubu and Sen. Shettima are not separating themselves from President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, notwithstanding the absurd claim made by the PDP.
The country was saved from certain disasters during two economic downturns by this administration, according to historical records, after the PDP’s years of awful rule had left it dangling precariously.
To expand on the restoration and grandeur that the Buhari administration ushered in across all sectors, the APC and its presidential candidate are fighting for Nigerians’ support, said Morka.
He claimed that the PDP and other hate groups it supports were helpless to oppose this commendable objective.
