In the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, at least 22 individuals have passed away.
Over 15,200 people who were driven from their homes by bandits are currently seeking refuge in the camp, according to Malam Saad Shimfida, the chairman of the IDP camp, who made this revelation to journalists in Jibia on Monday. These people came from the villages of Kwari, Mai-Wuya, Tsauni, Shimfida, Tsembe, and Zango communities.
The fatality, according to Salisu, the chairman of the Shimfida Youth Development Association, was brought on by the camp’s unfavourable living conditions.
According to him, some of the displaced people sleep on the ground, while others use mats that the local government has provided.
