Air Crash Averted As Overland Airways Flight Swiftly Disembark At Lagos Airport After Midair Fire.

Information available to TrendyNews has it that, one of the engines caught fire midair, while others said the incident occurred in the approach phase of the flight.

However, an accident was Averted as passengers onboard the Overland Airways’ flight from Ilorin to Lagos on Wednesday, the 15th of June, had to disembark after the aircraft experienced an unusual high temperature on one of its engines.

According to aviation experts, the crew was left with no option, but, to implemented standard procedures for such abnormal situations and evacuated the passengers without delay.

On their part, Overland Airways, in a statement, disclosed that on board the aircraft were 33 passengers who disembarked after the aircraft came to a halt on the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos runway. It added; “No passenger was hurt in any way.”

The statement went further, “Overland Airways salutes the professional interventions of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN); Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, (NAMA); Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA) and the Accident Investigation Bureau Nigeria, (AIB-N) which were very prompt and reassuring”
