Reports reaching TrendyNews has it that, no fewer than 34 lawyers appeared in a Sokoto magistrate court to defend the two people suspected to have hands in the killing of Deborah Samuel who was accused of blasphemy and was lynched on May 12, 2022.
The two suspects that were arraigned by the police were Bilyaminu Aliyu and Aminu Hukunci. They were docked at a Sokoto Chief Magistrate’s Court with 34 lawyers ready to defend them. The two suspects however pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Mansur Ibrahim, who is said to be one of the 34 lawyers and the leader of the team, applied for the two suspects to be granted bail but it was declined by the judge(name withheld) and then ordered that the accused should be remanded at a correctional centre.
Recall that, before she was killed, Deborah Samuel was a 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Wamako, Sokoto State after where was accused of blasphemy.
Her parents, Emmanuel Garba and Alheri Emmanuel said they are leaving everything in God’s hands and that they see it as an act of God.
