Amid the ongoing internal crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party, Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has accused some Chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party of working against the party during the 2019 presidential elections.
Speaking during an event in Rivers State on Tuesday, Wike recounted how some chieftains of the party approached him in 2019 to join them in negotiating with Buhari but, he refused. He said those of them who left the party are now calling them boys. The boys who decided to stay back in the Peoples Democratic Party and kept the party while those who founded the party left.
“When they were going to negotiate with Buhari in 2019, they came to me but I said no, PDP must win. That was why president Muhammadu Buhari won the election. Those of them who made sure that the Peoples Democratic Party never survived since 2015 are now opening their mouths today” Daily Post quoted Wike as saying.
