Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, also known as “Jenifa,” has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) deputy governorship candidate in Lagos State.
On Wednesday, she was announced as Alhaji Abdulaziz Olajide Adediran, also known as “Jandor,PDP “‘s running mate for governor.
The Nollywood actress defeated four other candidates who were also shortlisted for the deputy governorship candidate position despite facing fierce competition from them.
Funke was selected as the PDP deputy governorship candidate in Lagos after a difficult vetting process, defeating former contender Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.
Yeye Shobajo, a former senatorial candidate for Lagos East, David Kolawole Vaughan, commonly known as DAKOVA, and engineer Teslim Balogun were also named as finalists.
