Walid Jibrin claimed Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, visited with him and they both discussed how to address the ongoing problem in the party, as he said during the BoT meeting yesterday in Abuja.
He claimed that after talking it over, they both decided that Jibrin should step down so that the party could have peace again and that’s what prompted him to quit yesterday.
He continued by saying that he would be given a bigger position if the party were to win the upcoming presidential election in the nation.
His words: “All we want to ensure is that Atiku Abubakar, becomes the next president of Nigeria by all means and that is why I have decided to step down as the chairman of the BoT. I discussed this with the presidential candidate and the candidate agreed with me. If the party wins I will be given a bigger position.”
