Just In: 10 Cabinet Ministers Resign Over 2023 General Elections In Nigeria.

[BREAKING] 2023: Nine Ministers Seeking Elective Positions Resign

No fewer than Nine ministers seeking elective positions in the 2023 elections in Nigeria have tendered their letters of resignations.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed,  discl this, after a valedictory sitting held for the outgoing members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the State House in Abuja.

According to him, ten ministers in total are leaving.  Meanwhile, nine were physically present while the former Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, who is the tenth minister, was absent.

President Muhammadu Buhari thanked them for their services to the name, urging the rest of the cabinet members to remain dedicated to their work.

This resignation is a consequence of the Presidential order to ministers and other political appointees seeking elective offices to resign from their posts.

Those who resigned and were present during Friday’s meeting were Abubakar Malami (Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice); Godswill Akpabio (Niger Delta Affairs); Rotimi Amaechi (Transportation); Ogbonnaya Onu (Science, Technology and Innovation); Pauline Tallen (Women Affairs); Chris Ngige (Labour and Employment); Timipre Sylva (State, Petroleum Resources); Uche Ogar (State, Mines and Steel Development), and Tayo Alasoadura (State, Niger Delta Affairs).
