Kenyan Police Officer Fatally Stabbed by Wife for Returning Home Late

 

Tragic news emerges from Kiplombe, Baringo County, Kenya, where a police officer met his untimely demise at the hands of his wife. Officer Vincent Kipterim Kiprotich, 28, serving with the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) in Mandera County, fell victim to a fatal stabbing.

 

Baringo Police Commander Julius Kiragu confirmed the heartbreaking incident, revealing that Officer Kipterim was on leave when the tragedy unfolded.

 

According to Kiragu, Kipterim was allegedly assaulted with a machete by his wife, ZamZam Bashir, 26, upon returning home around 3 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

 

The altercation escalated, resulting in the fatal stabbing of the officer. Bashir subsequently reported the incident to the deceased’s brother.

 

“The officer was on leave, he came home late, a quarrel erupted leading to the deceased being stabbed by his wife. He was rushed to Eldama Ravine Sub County Hospital but succumbed to the injuries,” Kiragu stated.

 

Law enforcement swiftly apprehended the wife, and investigations are underway to shed light on the tragic event.

 

The deceased’s body has been transferred to Eldama Ravine Morgue pending a postmortem examination.
