Nikki Haley’s Next Chapter: From Presidential Bid to Policy Leadership”
Former U.S. presidential candidate Nikki Haley has embarked on a new career path after withdrawing from the 2024 Republican primary race.
Following her departure from the race last month due to insufficient momentum against rival Donald Trump, Haley announced on Monday, April 15, that she has joined the Hudson Institute, a conservative foreign-policy think tank, as the Walter P. Stern Chair.
During her presidential bid, Haley emphasized the significance of America’s alliances with Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. She intends to leverage her role at Hudson to advance her foreign-policy objectives by providing guidance to other policymakers.
In a statement, Haley stressed the importance of Hudson’s work in promoting American security and prosperity by providing policymakers with accurate information and effective solutions.
The Walter P. Stern Chair program, established in 2020, honors the achievements of former Hudson Chairman Walter “Wally” Stern, who played a pivotal role in establishing the institute as a renowned foreign-policy organization.
Hudson President and CEO John Walters expressed his admiration for Haley’s leadership abilities in both foreign and domestic policy realms. He emphasized her unwavering commitment to defending freedom and advocating for American security and prosperity.
Sarah May Stern, chair of Hudson’s Board of Trustees, praised Haley’s appointment, noting her courage and insightfulness as invaluable assets in strengthening Hudson’s position as a leading policy organization.
