2023: ‘APC doesn’t glamorize poverty, will retire political tourist to Dubai’, Shettima takes jibe at Obi, Atiku

Kashim Shettima, the vice presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next elections, criticised the chances of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), on Tuesday.

Shettima criticised the former governor of Anambra State as being unqualified to lead Nigeria when he spoke at the meeting in Lagos between Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, and business leaders.
He charged Obi with glamorising poverty and supplying Nigerians with worthless numbers.
In addition, the former Borno governor criticised Atiku for failing to bring his party’s ranks together and declared that he would not bring Nigeria together.

He believed that Tinubu was more capable than Tinubu and Obi together.

He said: “Leadership is not about glamorizing poverty. We don’t glamorize poverty, we fight it. Leadership goes beyond spewing statistics or basking in the mediocre performance of the former governor of Anambra State.

“I respect Atiku Abubakar. But leadership goes beyond ranting. Someone who can’t unite his own party, I wonder how he will unite the country. The world is taking of artificial intelligence, of big data, of technology.

“The ability to sell bottle water doesn’t make one an expert in economy. Atiku Abubakar isn’t Abraham Lincoln. Next year, we are going to permanently retire political tourist back to Dubai.”
