Engr Matt Okonoboh’s resume is intimidating, but what is available in the public space, only touched the surface of his job career that cut across Africa, Europe and Asia.
He is admired by the the youths and the aged as he had positively influenced the lives of many.
Engr Matthias Okonoboh is a multi-talented business management and QHSE consultant as well as an accredited trainer with extensive experience in Business Development, Safety/Quality Management, and Community Development & Entrepreneurship Advocate.
Okonoboh has worked in a variety of departments, including Business Development, Quality, Safety, and Environment, as well as a variety of industries, including Railway, Construction, Manufacturing, Local Authorities, and the National Health Service (NHS) of the United Kingdom. He was previously Site Control Manager, London Underground, and Health, Safety & Security Manager (Construction and Tunnelling) at the Greenline underground project on the multi-billion Qatar Rail Development Project; the channel tunnel project – London; and the channel tunnel project – London.
Matt is the Managing Director of Prosek Consulting Limited – Management Consultants, as well as a Seminar Convenor on Corporate Management and Entrepreneurship and a Trainer/Business Partner on Quality, Health, Safety, and Sustainability. He is also the Director of Mega-Step Youth Foundation – Youth Empowerment Initiative, which has carried out a number of youth empowerment projects, including the first-of-its-kind Ekpon Music Talent Hunt, which took place in December 2021 at his homestead.
He is well-versed in local social and infrastructure issues.
According to him, community development is the foundation of national development.
Matthias has a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from the distinguished University of Benin, a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Telecommunication Engineering from London’s South Bank University, and a Master’s Degree Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Gloucestershire, as well as advanced project management and QHSE certifications. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and a Chartered Practitioner in Health and Safety (CMIOSH) – UK. A member of the Association for Project Managers (UK). He is a licensed management consultant with the Lagos State Government in Nigeria, as well as a Lagos State Safety Commission authorized stakeholder (LSSC).
He has also worked as a consultant and assessor at the Federal University of Agriculture [FUNAAB] in Abeokuta, Nigeria’s Vocation & Entrepreneurship Training Programme.
Engr. Matthias Okonoboh is a self-employed consultant in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. He is married with three children to the glory of God.
This vibrant and stylish engineer is well-known in his neighborhood as a man who understands and loves his people.
Since 2015, he has funded the annual secondary school inter-house sports competition in his hometown, Ekpon, in Igueben Local Government Area. In 2016 and 2017, he helped to alleviate teacher shortages by funding a year of the Youth Corpers’ community financial incentive scheme and community initiatives such as the Ekpon Market sheds. He has given a number of impoverished students scholarships.
Engr Matthias was responsible for the installation of the primary sign boards on the Ekpon-Agbor Express Road, as well as initiating the Light-Up-The-Community initiative, which was co-financed by Ekpon indigenes in the United Kingdom.
From road grading to health centers, he has been heavily involved in every community effort.
The former Vice Chairman, Esan Community Association in the United Kingdom, Engr. Matt Okonoboh in recognition of his youth development and business programs, was bestowed with the Edo Icon Award.
Engr Matthias Okonoboh believes that the local administration in Igueben Local Government Area, can do much more to justify its existence, and that as a man who has worked in community development and youth empowerment, he is the right man for the job.
