The Director-general of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, revealed that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, visited her office at the organisation’s headquarters on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
According to the Director-general, Peter Obi discussed Nigeria’s economic recovery and the role of trade with her.
The former minister for finance disclosed this on her verified Twitter handle on Wednesday. She said, “With Governor @PeterObi at the @WTO, discussing Nigeria’s economic recovery and the role of trade.”
The presidential candidate is currently outside Nigeria and he has met with many Nigerian groups in the diaspora regarding his plans for the country.
The official campaign for the 2023 presidential election will begin in the next few weeks, while the election will be held on February 25, 2022.
Peter Obi will contest the election with frontline candidates like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party.
