The wife of departing Governor Willie Obiano, Ebelechukwu and Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, were embroiled in a quarrel at the inauguration of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as governor of Anambra on Thursday.
However, there are conflicting claims on who smacked who first.
However, a correspondent with The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who was there at the time claims that the incident occurred just after Soludo took his oath of office.
Mrs Obiano stepped in and slapped the widow of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu, according to NAN. Dignitaries, including Ex-Gov Obiano, were already seated when Mrs Obiano stepped in and moved to the front row where the widow of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu was sat.
The incident grabbed the attention of security agents and a few celebrities, who yanked Mrs Obiano from Bianca’s grip, who was visibly surprised.
Mrs Obiano was then taken away, and her husband departed the scene shortly after, as the incident occurred after the new governor was inaugurated in.
