The spokesman of Atiku Abubakar 2023 campaigns, Daniel Bwala has said that people around Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, giving him the impression that they are loyal to him, may not actually be loyal to him.

He said this during an interview with Rufai Oseni on VOP 90.3fm.

“I have always known that people who hang around Peter Obi, giving him the impression that they were for him, they were not for him. I can tell you that from the depth of my heart.”

Speaking further, he said, “If you want to help Peter Obi, what you will tell him are three:

“1. focus on building the structure for the election even if you don’t want to stay in that party. There is this thing called structure for election, a temporary structure. He is not doing it and nobody is telling him to do that.

“2. Expand your approach to become a nationalist appeal rather than pandering on the sentiments of religion. Let me tell you and this is my opinion, from time immemorial from today, whenever you see a Muslim candidate in an election, don’t ever assume that he is not connecting with the Muslim demographics to help him. But he tries everything possible to avoid making that a thing that Nigerians will see as this person is going on a religious extremism. They apply the wisdom. Peter Obi ought to have taken for example that he has the Christians with him, then stretch his argument to meet our Muslim brothers and campaign. But Peter is further dividing the line.”
