According to a report by Daily Mail, Senegalese goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy has reportedly rejected the contract which was offered to him by Chelsea football club.
On the reason why he rejected the contract offer, it was revealed that the pay package which he was offered was far lower than that of Chelsea’s second choice goalkeeper, Kepa Arizabalaga.
The Senegalese goalkeeper is one of the lowest paid players in the Chelsea squad but rejected the first proposal because the terms were inferior to his understudy Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is on £190,000 a week.
Chelsea football club are keen on tying their number 1 shot stopper to a new contract despite his blunders against Leeds United and West Ham United.
It will be recalled that on Tuesday, homegrown defender Reece James committed his long-term future to the club by signing a bumper new six year deal worth £250,000 a week and making him the highest paid defender in Chelsea history
