On Thursday, suspected terrorists reportedly attacked a military checkpoint close to Zuma Rock on the Suleja section of the Abuja-Niger route.
Because of the event, traffic was blocked as Nigerian Army officers cleared the area along a popular roadway.
However, it is unknown if any casualties were reported during the attack.
On Monday, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) issued a warning regarding a terrorist attack that was allegedly being prepared in Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, and three other states throughout the nation.
A few incidents had been reported in Abuja in recent weeks.
On July 5, militants from the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) raided the Kuje Correctional Center in Abuja and released hundreds of prisoners held there.
Terrorists had also attacked troops of the 7 Battalion, Guards Brigade, along the Kubwa-Bwari Road, Abuja, last weekend and killed three soldiers.
