Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, has said the time of reckoning was coming for those who continue to insist that they can take everything to themselves in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The governor maintained that nobody could silence him from speaking against such injustice and the demand for the right thing to be done.

Governor Wike spoke at the inauguration of Emohua campus of Rivers State University, and the flag-off of staff quarters, performed by Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State on Wednesday.

National Working Committee of All Progressives Congress (APC) will meet with the party’s presidential candidate for next year’s general election, Bola Tinubu, at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja today.

Those expected to be in attendance, according to a source, include Tinubu’s running mate, Kashim Shettima, members of the APC Progressive Governors’ Forum among other party’s stakeholders.

The source disclosed that the meeting is for the presidential candidate to formally pay a thank-you-visit to the party’s national leadership.

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on Wednesday asked the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to allow Amotekun and other State Security Outfits to bear sophisticated arms to protect the people.

The Governor also clarified his position on the Oil Pipeline Surveillance contract awarded to private individuals and organizations.

Akeredolu said his position was to allow Amotekun to bear heavy arms like the non-state actors who were engaged to protect the oil pipelines.

Tension remains high as leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), hold a crucial National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, today (Thursday).

Indications of what to expect began from the meeting of the National Working Committee which was presided over by the National Chairman, Iyiochia Ayu, at the National Secretariat, on Wednesday.

Although the meeting dwelt heavily on the agenda for to be presented to the party’s Caucus and NEC, the party’s effort to reconcile aggrieved members also featured.
