The new chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adolphus Wabara, has reacted to the crisis rocking the opposition party.

Daily trust reports that the internal crisis rocking the party began after the emergence of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar as the party’s 2023 presidential candidate with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike who was defeated at the May primaries in Abuja, feeling cheated.

The national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, must retire as a condition of peace, according to the Rivers governor, who has also made other requests. There have been numerous attempts to end the problem, but none have been successful.

In his remarks at the PDP NEC meeting on Thursday, Wabara urged members to refrain from making hasty declarations that could worsen the situation.

The PDP, according to the former Senate President, has a built-in system for resolving issues.

“I want to encourage us that no matter how angry we are, we should always debrief ourselves in-house rather than playing to the gallery,” he stated. As a rule, only God knows what the future holds, therefore we should be careful what we say.

According to Daily trust report that Wabara was elected as the new PDP BoT Chairman after Senator Walid Jibrin resigned on Thursday.
