Atiku reveals Okowa’s importance to the PDP’s presidential campaign in 2023.

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, characterised Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a “very significant addition” to the team on Sunday.

Last Monday, Abubakar announced the governor of Delta State as his running partner for the 2023 presidential election.

Abubakar stated in a message to Nigerians in Abuja that the position of president, in particular, requires the holder of that office to make judgments with clarity of mind.

He went on to say that the decision to pick a running partner and how it was made in countries with a strong democratic tradition reveals their preparation for the work ahead.

“The Governor of Delta State, Okowa, and I have a lot of personality traits,” Abubakar stated. He is a gentleman, but he is also tenacious.

“His senatorial experience will be useful in some of the legislative reforms that are desperately needed to reorganise our governmental operations.”

“Both Okowa and I are eternal optimists about Nigeria’s future and the promises it holds as a united, peaceful, and successful nation.”

“Having him on the ticket gives our campaign a lot of advantages.”

He stated that the two would collaborate with other PDP leaders and Nigerians ahead of the election to achieve the party’s triumph next year.

“A victory in the general election for the PDP is a victory for Nigeria.” Nigeria wins when we win.

“It brings me immense satisfaction that I can count on your support to win the election and go to work in earnest,” the ex-vice president ended.
