The much awaited cabinet list is expected to be unveiled in the coming days and each state is constitutionally to be represented in the cabinet. Different names have been touted as possible ministerial nominees to represent Edo State in the social media for the past weeks and some persons have actually christened themselves as the anointed while some senatorial zones have also been laying claim to the coveted slot(s) Without prejudices to the wisdom of our leaders,it is imperative some considerations are critically considered.
Like Predident Tinubu averred,he promised to form a government of national competence and that translates to each state presenting the best of the best to represent her. While polical contribution is key,other factors like education,intelligence,organisational abilities,exposure and grasp of contemporary developmental issues are
imperative. Entitlement mentality, unbridled lobbying and nocturnal calculations should be relegated. Some persons have even threatened fire and brimstone if their hopes shaped by lobbying are dashed and promise SCORCHED-EARTH retribution. The time of docile representation and OLYMPICS SPIRIT of participation and not winning should be a thing of the past. Our representation must not be borne out of placating a senatorial District or rotational contraption.The man or woman must be the one every Edo person would be proud of and capable of giving the State the benefits of a virile representation. Good a thing all the 3 senatorial districts have eminently qualified persons for our leaders to choose from. May God guide our leaders to nominate for us a FIRST CLASS MINISTER in the cabinet of national competence, Amen.
