Two suspected serial burglars have been detained by police in the Ekiti State city of Ado Ekiti for reportedly breaking into at least 16 homes and businesses there.
The state police public relations officer, Sunday Abutu, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday and stated the two suspects had items that belonged to 16 separate complainants.
He claims that the two suspects guided security personnel to the location where they kept the stolen goods, whereupon the police were able to locate them.
According to Abutu, the items found included a variety of electronic equipment, 220 pairs of shoes for men and women, 275 pieces of clothing for men and women, various wines, groceries, and consumables, as well as one bag carrying three hammers, a wooden saw, and a chisel.
