Lagos mechanic who encountered police, LASTMA and VIO on the same day rants on WhatsApp
A Lagos mechanic who encountered the police, LASTMA, and VIO officers on the same day took to WhatsApp to express his frustrations.
The driver, who had to part with some money after the law enforcement officials held him for one infraction or the other, lamented on WhatsApp after the tough day he had.
He revealed that while driving a client’s car, a VIO officer stopped him for a cracked windscreen and demanded #40K. After pleading with the VIO officer to no avail, he called the car owner, who then spoke with the officer and he was asked to only pay #5K.
While leaving the VIO office, he said a police officer stopped him and accused him of running a red light. He said he begged and explained that he was just coming from the VIO office but the police said that was none of her business.
He said he called the VIO officer to explain what happened but the officer told him to sort himself out with the police. He escaped the police officer when she began talking to someone else.
He then stopped to withdraw money from a bank and while exiting the bank, he said a LASTMA officer stopped him for not wearing a seat belt.
He explained that he was just driving out of the bank but the officer refused to listen.
A small bus coming at full speed caused the LASTMA officer to hurry out of the road and the mechanic took advantage of the opportunity to escape.
“Wahala no dey finish for Lagos,” the mechanic lamented as he narrated how his day went.
