One of the many things that thrilled children in the 90s and early 2000s was the kind of movies that were produced by the Nollywood industry during such periods. The likes of Chiwetalu Agu, Nkem Owoh and Victor Osuagwu, were notably known for their funny characters displayed through their movies and their impacts in the lives of such kids who are now grown ups will never be forgotten.

Chiwetalu Agu, Nkem Owoh and Victor Osuagwu, were three among the many comic actors that dominated the Nollywood industry during the 90s and early 2000s. Their unique and natural style of acting paved a way for them in the industry to such an extent that many had thought they were acting without scripts.

Chiwetalu Agu, Nkem Owoh and Victor Osuagwu who started their acting careers in 1981, 1978 and 1997 respectively, have been able to contribute to the growth of the movie industry and has also received several nominations and awards for their continuous impacts on such industry.

Nkem Owoh on the other hand, changed the narrative of the movie industry and took it outside the borders of Nigeria, when he acted the movie, “Osuofia in London”. The actor was able to display his funny character in such movie to such an extent that he was nicknamed “Osuofia” (a name which will never be erased from the mouth of Nigerians).

The list of veteran comic actors in the Nigerian film industry can never be completed without mentioning Victor Osuagwu. The actor starred in several comic movies with the likes of Charles Inojie, Charles Awurum, Nkem Owoh, John Okafor, Sam Dede, and several others during the early 2000s.

Through their funny characters, Chiwetalu Agu, Nkem Owoh and Victor Osuagwu were able to also educate their audiences on the various aspects of the society and the consequences of engaging in societal crimes.
