A former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, was not just a guest but also the preacher at the anniversary of the Love of Christ Generation Church (Cherubim and Seraphim), Oniru, Lagos, on Sunday, September 4, 2022.
The thanksgiving service, which attracted many dignitaries, marked the first anniversary of the church and 15 years in ministry of its founder, Reverend Esther Ajayi.
Obasanjo, in his sermon titled, ‘Given Testimony’, cited the Biblical experience of Joseph in prison, who interpreted the dreams of the Pharaoh and some of his top aides. Obasanjo also illustrated the story of Aaron and Moses, who went to deliver God’s message to King Pharaoh, who, however, turned deaf hears to the warnings.
The former president also emphasised that there were people like pharaoh who did not know God.
Other dignitaries at the event include the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Chairman of the Parks Management Committee of Lagos State, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, among others.
One of the highlights of the event was when Obasanjo and Oluomo paid obeisance to the Ooni at different times in the church.
Oluomo could also be seen prostrating himself before the former president, before both men hugged each other.
