Two Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, on Wednesday, 7th September 2022, engaged in a heated argument over the former Governor who “developed” Lagos State to be what it is today.
The two Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress, Tunde Bank-Anthony and Wole Badmus, were in an exclusive interview on Channels Television’s Programme on Wednesday, where they had the heated disagreement.
While Tunde Bank-Anthony said that the National Leader and presidential candidate of APC, Bola Tinubu, can not claim glory of his successors; Akinwunmi Ambode and Babatunde Fashola, in developing Lagos State, Wole Badmus disagreed, insisting that Bola Tinubu personally transformed Lagos State with his “master-plan” the successive governors of the State built upon.
Recall that after 9years of military rule in Lagos State, the administration of the State was taken over by a democratic elected governor, Bola Tinubu. He was the Governor of Lagos State from May 1999 to May 2007 when he handed over to Babatunde Fashola. Fashola served for two-terms and handed over to Akinwunmi Ambode, who served for only one-term. Ambode couldn’t contest for second-term because he was denied the governoship ticket due to some controversies that time, but he never talked about it. He has since been quiet in political matters.
