Joseph Ekumankama, the Minister of State for Health, has stated that the Federal Government would short down all the unregistered medical laboratories in Nigeria, as reported by Vanguard.
The minister charged the staff and management of the Nigerian Medical Laboratory Science Council not to rest or relent on their oars in the discharge of their statutory duties in the country.
He made the statement when members of the Council led by the Registrar, Dr. Tosan Erhabor, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja at the Ministry of Health Headquarters.
In a announcement made by the Ministry of Health on Saturday through Ahmed Chindaya, the Director of Press, the minister said that rules and regulations would be formulated to ensure easy management of the council.
Part of the statement read as, “The minister of state health, who appreciate the visit, assured that the team of the support are backing of the ministry in accomplishing the mandate and duties of the Council.
“He stated that if need be, policies would be made to help the ministry carry out their responsibilities, easily towards achieving the mandate of Mr. President in the health sector.”
