J J OKOCHA AND OTHER EX-SUPER EAGLES PLAYERS VISIT Tinubu, LAUD HIS EFFORT ON SPORTS

By Ebor Cletus Ralph Jr

Former international footballers have praised Aswáju Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, for his contributions to democracy, good administration, and sports development in Nigeria.
They made the remarks when they paid Tinubu a visit on Saturday in Lagos to wish him a happy 70th birthday, which falls on March 29.

Former Eagles goalkeepers Peter Rufai, Ike Shorunmu, and Dosu Joseph, ex-Captains Austin JJ Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu, defenders Taribo West and Uche Okechukwu, Obafemi Martins, Tijani Babangida, Victor Ikpeba, and Mutiu Adepoju were among the ex-Super Eagles players.
Okocha praised Tinubu’s achievements in Lagos, saying the former Lagos governor is the reason he typically calls Lagos home.
Tinubu gave the first seed money for Nwankwo’s Kanu Heart Foundation in 2002, according to Nwankwo, who founded it.
“Without that money, the Kanu Foundation would not have been able to execute the life-saving heart surgery,” he stated.
Taribo West wished Asiwaju well in the presidential election and requested that Nigeria be blessed with more people like him.
