The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has said that contesting candidates for the presidency shouldn’t send representatives when they want to make their plans known to Nigerians during the campaign.
He said this while speaking about the 2023 elections to Nigerians in Atlanta, Georgia. He said in a video currently making rounds on social media that the candidates contesting for the presidency should speak to the masses themselves and make their plans known to them without the use of proxies. He said that the people should listen to the candidates themselves.
He also used himself as an example as he said that the candidates should stand as he’s standing and tell the masses their plans for the nation.
He said;
“There’s like thirteen of us contesting for the presidency. What I want you to do is not to say Peter Obi is your man, listen to the thirteen of us.”
…Nobody should send anybody to come and tell you… They have to come physically to tell you and they’ll stand the way I’m standing to tell you what they want to do. That’s the way we want to do, that’s how elections are run all over the world. You listen to Biden, you listen to Bush, you listen to Obama, that’s how it’s run everywhere.”
