Manchester United is set to face Spanish LaLiga team Real Sociedad tonight at Old Trafford in their first UEFA Europa League of the 2022/23 season. Both clubs met each other in the quarter-finals of the Europa League during the 2020/21 season, and Manchester United was able to knock the Spanish giants out of the competition.
This time around, both clubs are in the same group. Manchester United was drawn alongside Omonia Nicosia and Tiraspol Sheriff in Group E, which is termed one of the toughest groups in the Europa League.
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag will be desperate to build on the club’s latest win against Arsenal on Sunday. The Red Devils were able to thrash Mikel Arteta’s men at Old Trafford, and that win made sure that the Red Devils secured their fourth consecutive premier league win of the season.
Ahead of the game, the manager is expected to hand Casemiro and Antony their full Manchester United debut after both players featured against Arsenal. Apart from Antony and Casemiro, the Dutchman is also expected to shuffle his squad to give his key players some rest ahead of the upcoming game against Crystal Palace in the premier league.
