Muslim-Muslim Ticket Is A Suicide Mission That Could Bring The Party Down – Says APC Christian Group

According to the League of Concerned Christian Youth in the APC, the All Progressives Congress has started a suicide mission that could bring down the party by pursuing the Muslim-Muslim ticket in the face of widespread opposition.
They claimed that the choice of Senator Kashim Shettima as the APC presidential candidate’s running mate had painted the party in the worst possible light in the eyes of Nigerians as a party that did not respect the diversity of the nation’s religions and ethnicities.
During a press conference, the convener of the APC-LCCY, Patrick Maiyaki, emphasized the need for the party’s leadership to replace Shettima with a Christian, claiming that doing so would ensure the party’s win in the upcoming election.
The protest began 24 hours after a coalition of North East and North Central party stakeholders demanded that the APC reconsider its selection of Shettima and Governor Simon Lalong as its vice presidential candidate and director-general of its campaign organization, respectively.
They claim that the party’s determination on running a Muslim-Muslim ticket has led to a great deal of dissatisfaction among its members.
Yakubu claimed that Shettima’s selection as Tinubu’s running partner amounted to insensitivity and complete disregard for the ethnic and religious diversity of the nation.
On Tuesday, Maiyaki warned media that the APC’s decision to implement a Muslim-Muslim ticket policy was a suicide mission.
