The women’s 4x100m relay team from Team Nigeria placed fourth at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, falling short of a podium finish.
The team, comprised of Joy Udo-Gabriel, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Grace Nwokocha, finished in 42.22 seconds.
The Nigerian team, which was in Lane 8, replicated the accomplishment of the Canadian quartet of Chioma Ajunwa, Endurance Ojokolo, Mercy Nku, and Mary Onyali-Omagbem, who placed fourth 11 years ago in Edmonton, Canada, with a time of 42.52 seconds.
In the relay race in Oregon, Team USA took first place, followed by Germany in second and Jamaica in third.

With a world-record time of 41.14 seconds, the quartet of Melissa Jefferson, Abby Steiner, Jenna Prandini, and Twanisha Terry won the gold medal.

Jamaica won the Silver in 41.18 seconds, while Germany took home the Bronze with 42.03 seconds finish.
