Police arraign man for damaging N8m property

The Police on Monday arraigned a 50-year-old man, Vincent Aniaga, before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly damaging four containers worth N8m.

 Aniaga is facing a two-count bordering on malicious damage and undermining court proceedings.

 The Prosecutor, ASP Clement Okuiomose, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on September 3 around 2:10p.m at Aspamda market, Trade Fair Complex area of Lagos State.

 Okuiomose said that the defendant maliciously damaged four containers worth N8m, belonging to the complainant, Ugochukwu Okorie.

 According to the prosecutor, the offence committed contravened Sections 339 and 104 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Fadahunsi Adefioye, granted him bail in the sum of N2m with two sureties in like sum.

 Adefioye adjourned the case until October 6 for mention.
