Super Eagles star comes from bench to rescue a point for La Liga giant on his debut against Atletico

In-form Super Eagles of Nigeria forward maestro, Sadiq Umar was in action tonight for his new club Real Sociedad in their 4th league game of the new season at home against Diego Simeone led Atletico Madrid team at the Reale Arena.

The Nigerian international joined Real Sociedad in the deadline day of the just concluded summer transfer window after making name for himself in the last season where he helped Almeria to promote to the top tier.

He has been prolific at the heart of the forward line for Almeria in the competition so far before linking up with his new team where he was able to pick up his superb goal scoring form from where he left off with an instant impact on his debut.

Sadiq Umar started the game from the bench due to tactical reason but was introduced in the 46th minute for Alexander Sorloth and he was able to play his part and also contributed his quota in the keenly contested encounter.

The Visitor opened the scoring sheet in the 5th minute of the game with a goal from Alvaro Morata to make it one nil and was the only goal that separated the two sides going into the half time break.

The host in the second half of the game were able to turn around the fortune of the game as they got levelled with an equalizer from Sadiq Umar in the 55th minute to make it 1-1.

After every other attempts from both sides to add more to the tally of the night, all were not successful as it ended one all draw at full time thereby making it no victor no vanquished.

Sadiq Umar with his great influx of delivery in the game will be hoping to keep his impressive run of form in the front of goals going for his team in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the competition.
