North Will Be Divided Over Tinubu – Primate Ayodele

The leader Of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Sunday, said the Northerners within the All Progressives Congress, APC, would be divided due to the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Primate Ayodele said the North would come up with a joker that would cause ethnic disagreement ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

He disclosed this in a statement by his spokesman, Oluwatosin Osho.

Ayodele said APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket would cause problems for Nigeria in the future.

US Vice President commends Osinbajo’s leadership on Climate Change

A renewed commitment by both Nigeria and the United States to work together on many global issues, especially on Climate Change and the global energy transition towards net-zero emissions emerged yesterday at the White House after a meeting between Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his American counterpart, Vice President Ismala Harris.

Mr. Osinbajo while responding to welcoming remarks by VP Harris noted that “we very strongly believe that we (Nigeria and US) in the coming years, will need to work together again on so many global challenges that are varied, and they come up very frequently now from promoting peace and security, to tackling global health issues and climate change and of course, economic adversity.”

Speaking specifically about Nigeria’s Energy Transition Plan, Mr. Osinbajo said “the plan is important for us because we see especially, the climate crisis as two existential issues; one is the crisis itself, second the energy poverty which is an issue for us in our part of the world.

Kano govt releases N1bn for girl child education

The Kano State Government has so far released more than N1.02 billion for girls’ education-related projects in its 2022 budget.

The co-chair, of Girl Education Partnership, Mario Bello, made this known in Kano on Saturday, at the dissemination of the Kano State 2022 girl education budget performance with citizens and relevant stakeholders.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the dissemination was supported by Partnership to Engage, Reform, and Learn, a governance program of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.

We must prepare our children for global competition, says Gbajabiamila

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has stressed the need to equip Nigerian children to be globally competitive while preparing them for future challenges and global competition with the right modern tools.

Special Adviser to the Speaker on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi quoted the Speaker saying this was responsible for his several interventions in the nation’s education sector through proactive laws and personal efforts.

He said one such effort among others was the Gbajabiamila Summer Coding Camp held across five secondary schools in Surulere 1 Federal Constituency, where children from all parts of Lagos State were taught coding as a way of introducing them to computers and enhancing their computer literacy and artificial intelligence.
