The UEFA Champions League returned on September 6th, with fans enjoying what is one of the most anticipated competitions in the world. However, some clubs didn’t start to go about their campaign the way they might have expected. Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City, and Benfica are among the big names to pick up a win on their opening game. However, the likes of Chelsea and Leipzig fell to defeat.

Thomas Tuchel and his men were condemned to defeat by the Croatian side, Dynamo Zagreb’s early goal, put pressure on Thomas Tuchel and raise lots of questions. For Bundesliga side Leipzig, it is a whole different story. Domenico Todesco turned Leipzig’s fortune around when he took over from Jesse Marsh. However, a bad start to the current campaign has condemned the current Leipzig boss, coupled with their latest defeat against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Bundesliga giants were humiliated at home, as Shakhtar Donetsk beat them 4-1 on home soil, and it has promoted the club to decide to end things with Todesco. According to recent reports, RB Leipzig have parted company with Domenico Tedesco with immediate effect. Assistant coaches Andreas Hinkel and Max Urwantschky have also left the club, with reports also revealing that RB Leipzig will announce his successor in due course.

Leipzig remains one of the top clubs in Europe and to save their season, they have made the move to sack their current boss, although it remains to be seen if it is the right call. Chelsea on their part are contemplating the next line of action. Although fans are already calling for the exit of Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea want to go about the situation with caution.
