UCL:Thomas Tuchel Laments over a Disappointed 1-0 Loss to Dinamo Zagreb.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel blows hot as Zagreb defeated Chelsea 1-0 in their Champions League opening match.

Tuchel has acknowledged that everything is missing for the Blues after they met an unexpected 1-0 defeat in their Tuesday, September 6, 2022, UEFA Champions League opening match against Dinamo Zagreb.

Tuchel said: ‘It’s an under-performance from us and it’s the same story,’

‘We have OK starts, we don’t take our half-chances, we don’t feel it when the game is there to be put to bed in the first 15-20 minutes, and then we concede from one counter-attack which is far too easy and from there we struggle and lose the match.

Tuchel admitted that Chelsea has not attained the height of perfection the club should have reached despite spending a huge amount on signing new players this summer.

He added: ‘We’re not where we need to be and where we can be, so it’s on me, it’s on us. At the moment everything is missing.’

Chelsea began the 2022/23 Champions League journey as they traveled to Croatia just to be trashed by the host as Mislav Orsic scored the winning goal for Zagreb in the 13th minute of the game.

Chelsea’s new signing Aubameyang made his debut for the club today but it’s a colossal disgrace that despite spending over £250m on bringing new players to the club this season, Chelsea’s team couldn’t even secure an equalizer against Zagreb, despite that the host scored in the wee minutes of the game.

It’s glaring that Thomas Tuchel‘s side has not gotten to their sturdy form. The club has been inconsistent since the season started and Tuchel has admitted that it is “too easy” to beat his team.

Having started the Champions League Campaign awfully, we all await to see if Chelsea will be able to bounce back and qualify from the group stage.
