Wike Tackles Atiku, Insist PDP National Chairman Must Resign

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has vowed to continue the agitations for the removal of the PDP National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu despite the vote of confidence passed on the latter by the PDP National Executive Council (NEC) on Thursday. Wike added that he ‘ll fight for the return of a party structure that ‘ll allow an even representation of the Intrest of the North and South in the National Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). 

Wike said the current Leadership Structure of the PDP, with the North holding the Presidential Ticket as well as the National Chairmanship Position is against the Constitution of the party and a gross Injustice to the South. Speaking during the Inauguration of the Ahoada Campus and Staff Quarters of the Rivers State University which was performed by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.

Wike who is a Former PDP Presidential Aspirant described the resignation of the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman as a distraction because the PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had told him that the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu must resign from Office.

“Ayu said if the Presidential Candidate comes from the North, he will resign after the Convention of our party, and that the Chairman of our party will come from the South,” Wike said.
