What APC Chieftain, Bank-Anthony, Said When Asked If Ambode Will Support Tinubu In 2023 Election

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Tunde Bank-Anthony, has said that he does not see any reason why the former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, will not support Bola Tinubu’s 2023 presidential ambition.

He said this during a recent interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily while answering questions on why Ambode failed to return to office as the Governor of Lagos State after serving for just one term, and his perceived relationship with Bola Tinubu since then.

Ambode took over power from Babatunde Fashola in 2015 and served till 2019, but lost his re-election at the APC primary election. Many believe that he lost to the present state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, because he was no longer in Tinubu’s good books.

Since then, Ambode has rarely been seen in political or social functions with Tinubu, and he hardly makes comments about Tinubu.

Since Tinubu joined the 2023 presidential race, Ambode has not publicly endorsed his presidential ambition, and this has made a lot of people to wonder if this is just a matter of time, and if he will do so later, since there is still some time left before the general elections.

So when asked if Ambode will support Tinubu’s presidential ambition, Bank-Anthony said – “I don’t see why not… As I sit down here now, if I tell you I am going to vote for you, I can change my mind.”

Bank-Anthony believes that Ambode was a performing governor who was denied the chance to return to office, but added that he is still a member of the APC and is loyal to the party.
