2023: Umahi, Akpabio out as INEC confirms APC candidates in Akwa Ibom, Ebonyi

In the farming village of Rafin Daji in the Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory on Wednesday, gunmen who were allegedly herders killed two individuals and kidnapped 20 others.

On Friday, locals revealed to journalists that both women and children had been kidnapped.

Akpabio later stepped down from the race in favour of the former Lagos State governor and decided to pursue a seat in the Senate.

However, at the time the former minister was pursuing his presidential dream, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Mr. Udom Ekpoudom had already obtained the APC nomination for the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.

In the Ebonyi South Senatorial District, Austin, the brother of Umahi, received the party’s nomination.
