Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made his debut for Chelsea yesterday in their 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb as he played his first Champions League match for the first time since 2017 when he was still at Borussia Dortmund. Unlike Lukaku, Aubameyang had some early chances to kill the game yesterday but he chose to return the pass to the likes of Sterling & Havertz in an attempt to assist a goal instead. However, Aubameyang had the following numbers yesterday: he played 59 mins, didn’t attempt any shots, didn’t completed any dribbles, made no key passes, committed 4 fouls, don’t win any fouls, won 1 out of 9 ground duels, and completed 1 out 4 attempted cross.
This statistic is not a good one for Aubameyang and it shows why he might have a Lukaku career at the club. Recall that Lukaku last season scored 15 goals and provided 4 assists for Chelsea in 44 games and Aubemeyang might have a replica this season if he is not careful.
