Many congratulations to AIG Tony Olofu for being conferred with the prestigious National Productivity Order of Merit (NIPOM) Award by the National Productivity Centre – Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment. This well-deserved recognition highlights AIG Olofu’s outstanding contributions as a consummate professional in the field.
Before his redeployment as AIG in charge of zone 13, Tony Olofu held esteemed positions such as former CP Counter Terrorism Unit and Director of Operations and Intelligence at the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons, Office of the National Security Adviser in Abuja, as well as CP Anambra State. His expertise and leadership were also demonstrated as the Area Commander of Kubwa, Abuja, and Commander of Operation Doo Akpo in Bayelsa State, during his tenure as an Assistant Commissioner of Police.
With a commendable career trajectory, AIG Olofu previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and held key positions such as DC of Operations in Ebonyi State and DC in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Command Bauchi State. Prior to his current role, AIG Tony Olofu was CP in charge of Eastern Port, showcasing his exceptional capabilities and diverse experience.
Born in October 1963, AIG Tony Olofu hails from Apa Local Government Area in Benue State. He embarked on his journey as a police officer after obtaining a BSc degree in sociology from the University of Jos, joining the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police on March 3rd, 1990.
AIG Tony Olofu’s commitment to professional development is evident through his participation in numerous domestic and international professional and staff courses. These include the Advanced Detective Course, Squadron Command Course, Tactical Leadership and Command Course, and Strategic Leadership/Command Course in Jos.
Beyond his impressive career achievements, AIG Olofu is a devoted family man, married, and blessed with children. This recognition not only celebrates his remarkable contributions to the field of law enforcement but also honors his unwavering dedication and commitment to service.
