Local Government Chairmen in Rivers State Risking Their Future – Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has criticized local government chairmen and other political appointees who show disrespect towards him, warning that they are jeopardizing their own future.

Fubara made these remarks on Thursday, April 11, during the inauguration of the Comprehensive Primary Healthcare Centre in Ndoni, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state. The healthcare center was built by former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili.

Expressing surprise at the presence of the ONELGA Chairman at the event, Fubara noted that typically, local council chairmen would refrain from participating in state government functions, citing a lack of loyalty.

Addressing the ONELGA chairman directly, Fubara remarked,

“I hope that after leaving here, you won’t face repercussions because I know you haven’t shown loyalty to me. Or perhaps, you will deny your presence and blame it on your shadow?”

He added, “But let me be clear. Those of you who believe disrespecting me is the way forward, you’re only digging your own grave. You’ll soon find yourselves falling into it. That’s the reality.”

Fubara reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the welfare of the people in the face of economic challenges.
