According to Channels Television, the Nigerian Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, while addressing the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UN COPS) in the United States of America, has made it clear that there is no security threat to the conduct of the forthcoming 2023 general elections in the country.

In a statement which was issued on Sunday by the police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, it was revealed that the IGP has made use of the opportunity of the meeting to discuss the achievement of cascading the ongoing election security management training across the six geo-political zones in preparation for the 2023 general elections.
More so, the IGP assured Nigerians that the forthcoming election would not witness any form of electoral violence as different security measures would be put in place to ensure that Nigerians would be able to vote for their candidates without fear of harassment and violence.
